Camden Markets

Stretching for a mile from the Chalk Farm tube station. The main market is by Regent’s Canal. Whatever you’re looking for from books to musical instruments, from handcrafts to clothing and jewellery, is for sale there.
Camden Town is a sea of entertainment. It overflows with a variety of colourful markets, shops, restaurants, bars, pubs, clubs, theatres and cinemas. The town attracts enormous crowds of Londoners and tourists alike.
Hours : The market has moved from being a weekend event to a 7-days-a-week happening.
Portobello Market
(Tube: Notting Hill Gate)
Portobello Road Market in Notting Hill is one of the most famous street markets in the world. The Saturday antiques market is the most popular but there is a street market six days a week. Portobello Road itself is a long, narrow street which stretches over two miles.is a magnet for collectors of virtually everything.
The market is divided into three major sections. The most crowded is the antiques section, running between Colville Road and Chepstow Villas to the south. The second section (and the oldest part) is the “fruit and veg” market, lying between Westway and Colville Road. In the third and final section is a flea market, where Londoners sell bric-a-brac and lots of secondhand goods they didn’t really want in the first place. But looking around still makes for interesting fun.
Hours : Saturdays, from 6am to 5pm though the street market is open six days a week.
Bermondsey Market
(Tube: London Bridge, then bus no. 78 or walk down Bermondsey St.).
One of London’s most serious weekly antiques market with over 500 traders and a world-wide reputation which attracts buyers from around the globe. It’s officially called the New Caledonian Market but most commonly known as Bermondsey antiques market. It’s located at Bermondsey Square on Tower Bridge Road. Prices are generally lower here than at Portobello and the other markets.
Hours : Fridays, from 6am to 2pm
Old Spitalfields Market
(Tube : Liverpool Street Station)
Old Spitalfields Market is one of London’s finest Victorian market halls set in a historic location in the heart of the City and one of the crown jewels of East London. A visitor to the market stalls and independent shops can find that hidden jewel, from jewel encrusted vintage boots, art deco sofas to rare vinyl for enthusiasts.
