Join the festivities as the Irish population of London take to the streets to celebrate St. Patricks Day with a spectacular parade involving live music, colourful floats and marching bands. Starting at around midday from Piccadilly the route which lasts one and a half miles passes by London’s famous landmarks such as Piccadilly Circus, Trafalgar Square and The Ritz.

Enjoy the wide range of live music performing around the city from established Irish bands to up and coming talents and the best thing is it’s all free! Drink a pint of Guinness at one of the many tents scattered around Trafalgar Square and enjoy the hospitality of the Irish people.

Dig into some traditional Irish grub at one of the food stalls in the square set up by your favourite local restaurants. Bring the whole family to the Pall Mall East which hosts an array of free child-friendly entertainment. Or jig the night away with up to seventy-five thousand others celebrate the booziest night of the year. Just make sure you’re wearing green and you’ll fit right in!

Experience an age-old tradition as Cambridge battle Oxford in a side by side boat race for the 166th time along the River Thames for almost seven kilometres a stretch between Putney and Mortlake in south-west London.

Dating back 150 years rowers from rival universities in a cruise competition which has been held in the same course for 10 years. People flock to the river bank to cheer on the contestants as they glide along the icy waters of the Thames towards the finish line.

Join in with the rest of the crowd as the friendly atmosphere watch with millions of others on TV cheer on their respected sides on the banks of the River Thames – a lovely day out for all!
